i3 sterile filtration

Sterile filtration at the point of use — protection exactly where water meets patient.

Point-of-use and inline sterile filtration at 0.2 µm — protection from Legionella, Pseudomonas and other waterborne pathogens.

0.2-micron barrier

A sterile barrier at the point of use

The 0.2 µm membrane physically retains Legionella, Pseudomonas and other waterborne bacteria — a barrier exactly where patients draw, wash and drink water.

FAQ

common
questions.

What is the i3 ONE and where does it fit?

The i3 ONE is a 0.2 µm point-of-use sterile filter that mounts directly on a water tap — a barrier where patients draw, wash and drink water. It is developed to protect immunocompromised and immunosuppressed patients, for example in oncology, transplant, intensive care and neonatology, from waterborne pathogens such as Legionella pneumophila, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and mycobacteria.

How fine is the i3 ONE filter and what does it retain?

The i3 ONE uses a 0.2 µm high-performance flat membrane. Manufacturer data states bacterial retention of more than 7 log per cm² for Brevundimonas diminuta (bacterial retention to ASTM F838). These are manufacturer figures, not an Australian therapeutic claim.

How long does an i3 ONE last?

The service life is 50 days (7 weeks), with a stable flow across that period. Record each filter change with the i3 trackApp so the change interval is documented.

What is the flow rate and operating pressure?

Manufacturer data states an initial flow of 12 L/min at 5 bar and a maximum operating pressure of 5 bar (operating temperature 60 °C, up to 70 °C for 30 minutes).

How is the i3 ONE installed and replaced?

It fits onto the tap outlet with a coupling — an external-thread or internal-thread version — with no tools needed. The housing is wipe-disinfectable and uses a laminar, angled jet that protects against contamination from the waste trap. Replace the filter at the end of its 50-day service life and log the change.
