Product information
the essentials.
The i3 FOUR inline sterile filter offers reliable protection against contamination caused by waterborne pathogens such as Legionella pneumophila, Pseudomonas aeruginosa or mycobacteria. It is installed for the sterile filtration of tap water in the inflow pipes of devices and instruments — for example behind the angle valve, before a dental treatment unit.
Key Features
- 50-day application period with a consistently high, stable flow rate.
- i3 PES membrane, nominal pore width 0.2 µm — corresponds with the definition of sterile filtration.
- Quick and safe installation; disposable, single-use filter.
- Log reduction value for Brevundimonas diminuta > 7 log/cm² — ASTM F383-15A (manufacturer data).
- Documented filter change via the i3 trackApp / i3 change service.
- Membrane
- i3 PES membrane, nominal pore size 0.2 µm — corresponds with the definition of sterile filtration. LRV > 7 log/cm² for B. diminuta (manufacturer data).
- Mounting
- Installed inline behind the angle valve, before the treatment unit. StarterSet (REF 3584) includes hoses and adapters; quick-snap coupling (REF 3587) and trigger protection (REF 3588) available. Pairs with a water-line protocol (e.g. Alpron). Do not install in tankless low-pressure systems; filtration does not change dissolved chemical content.
- Field of application
- Inline sterile filtration of tap water in the inflow pipes of water-injected devices and instruments — e.g. dental treatment units, and on cleaning pistols for rinsing instruments.
- Clinical data & approvals
- Plastics suitable for use with drinking water to BS 6920 (manufacturer data). Bacterial retention > 7 log/cm² B. diminuta, ASTM F383-15A (manufacturer data). Not ARTG-registered.
- Service life
- 50 days. Operating temperature 60 °C (up to 70 °C for 30 min); max 5 bar; initial flow 6 L/min at 5 bar (manufacturer data).
- Delivery forms
- REF 3586 — carton of 1 filter. StarterSet REF 3584 (hoses + adapters); quick-snap coupling REF 3587; trigger protection REF 3588.
Figures are manufacturer / EU data, not an Australian therapeutic claim; not ARTG-registered. Follow the data sheet and IFU.

FAQ
common
questions.
What is the i3 FOUR and where does it fit?
The i3 FOUR is an inline 0.2 µm sterile filter installed in the supply line of water-injected devices and instruments — for example behind the angle valve and before a dental treatment unit, in ENT treatment units, and for medical-device reprocessing. It protects against waterborne pathogens such as Legionella pneumophila, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and mycobacteria.
How fine is the i3 FOUR membrane and what does it retain?
The i3 FOUR uses a PES membrane with a nominal pore size of 0.2 µm, which corresponds with the definition of sterile filtration. Manufacturer data states a log reduction of more than 7 log per cm² for Brevundimonas diminuta (bacterial retention to ASTM F383-15A). These are manufacturer figures.
How long does an i3 FOUR last?
The service life is 50 days, with a high, stable flow across that period. Document each change with the i3 trackApp.
What is the flow rate?
Manufacturer data states an initial flow of 6 L/min at 5 bar, with a maximum operating pressure of 5 bar (operating temperature 60 °C, up to 70 °C for 30 minutes).
How is the i3 FOUR installed?
It is installed inline in the water supply — for a dental unit, behind the angle valve and before the treatment unit. The StarterSet (REF 3584) includes the hoses and adapters; a quick-snap coupling (REF 3587) and trigger protection (REF 3588) are available. It pairs with a water-line protocol such as Alpron so the supply stays microbiologically safe.
What standards does the i3 FOUR meet, and how is it ordered?
Manufacturer data states the plastics are suitable for use with drinking water to BS 6920 and that the filter is authorised for use with drinking water. Order it through Biodegree as REF 3586 (carton of 1 filter); the StarterSet is REF 3584.
