Manufacturer / EU test data: bactericidal to EN 13623, and conservation of procedural water to European Pharmacopoeia 5.1.3 (1% for 28 days). Approved by well-known device manufacturers. Listed on the ARTG (226413) per the Australian Product Information.
Shelf life
2 years.
Delivery forms
REF 3183 — carton of 4 × 1 L bottles.

Two regimes — a continuous 1% conditioning dose to maintain water quality, and a stronger periodic decontamination. The spectrum shown is manufacturer / EU test data (EN 13623, European Pharmacopoeia 5.1.3); in Australia, follow the Alpron Product Information and its on-label 1% dosing.

Evidence

the evidence.

Independently tested to recognised European standards by the manufacturer — EN 13623 (bactericidal activity in procedural-water lines) and the European Pharmacopoeia 5.1.3 preservation test. These are European manufacturer test data, not Australian therapeutic claims: in Australia, follow the Alpron Product Information and its on-label 1% dosing.

FAQ

common
questions.

What is Alpron used for?

Alpron is a liquid concentrate for the continuous conditioning and decontamination of the procedural water in dental treatment-unit waterlines. Used day to day at 1%, it keeps the water clean, reduces germ load and prevents regrowth, removes and prevents algae, and stops limestone sedimentation.

How is Alpron dosed?

As a 1% continuous additive: mix 10 mL of Alpron with 990 mL of water — one 1 L bottle makes 100 bottles of procedural water. It runs continuously in the unit’s bottle or dosing system; dosing devices are set up by a service engineer. For a periodic decontamination it is used undiluted. Always follow the Product Information for your unit.

What is Alpron made of?

A water-based concentrate of PHMB (polyhexamethylene biguanide), EDTA, sodium tosylchloramide and phenoxyethanol; it contains a source of phenylalanine. It is non-corrosive and free from silver nitrate, hydrogen peroxide and iodine.

How is Alpron different from Bilpron?

Alpron is the day-to-day 1% conditioner that stays in the water while you treat patients. Bilpron is a ready-to-use solution used over closures — overnight, weekends and holidays — to decontaminate and protect idle lines. Use Alpron continuously and Bilpron over downtime; the BRS Kit is the one-off deep clean before the routine begins.

Is Alpron safe for Environment?

Yes — Alpron is non-corrosive and compatible with the materials used in dental treatment units, and is free from silver nitrate, hydrogen peroxide and iodine. Alpron is 100% biodegradable when diluted and used according to the manufacturer’s instructions of use.

Sustainability

Fully biodegradable. Free from aldehydes and phenols.

Every Alpro formula is designed to break down and return to nature in diluted form — no aldehydes, no phenols, no chlorine, and no silver ions or metals in our waterline care. And every product is made in Germany, in an emission-free facility powered by solar and geothermal energy.
