Key facts
POWERFUL CLEANING. WITHOUT THE COMPROMISE.
Why practices choose IC-100
REMOVE THE CONTAMINATION. PROTECT THE INSTRUMENTS AND SURFACES. PRESERVE THE INVESTMENT.
1. REMOVES BLOOD, PROTEINS & ORGANIC CONTAMINATION
WHY IT MATTERS: Effective cleaning is the foundation of reliable subsequent disinfection and sterilisation.
Effective removal of organic residues from compatible surgical instruments and all medical-device surfaces. IC-100 helps loosen contamination before it dries and becomes more difficult to remove.
2. CLEANS DEEPER — EVEN WHERE YOU CANNOT EASILY SEE
WHY IT MATTERS: Better wetting helps cleaning agents reach contamination that water alone may leave behind.
Surfactants reduce surface tension, allowing the cleaning solution to spread evenly and penetrate small gaps, grooves, pores and surface irregularities.
3. PROTECTS SENSITIVE SURFACES & EXPENSIVE EQUIPMENT
WHY IT MATTERS: Protecting material integrity can help avoid unnecessary deterioration and replacement costs.
Its near-neutral formulation offers excellent material compatibility, helping minimise damage to compatible plastics, metals, coatings and coloured components.
4. PRE-CLEAN SURGICAL INSTRUMENTS BEFORE RESIDUES DRY
WHY IT MATTERS: One product supports both sensitive surface cleaning and instrument pre-cleaning, reducing the need for separate products.
IC-100 liquid can be used for the pre-cleaning of compatible surgical instruments, helping loosen blood residues before they dry or coagulate and supporting easier subsequent cleaning.
Less damage, less cleaning, less damage, more protection and safety
5. NO ALCOHOL. NO ALDEHYDES. NO PHENOLS.
WHY IT MATTERS: An alternative to cleaning formulations containing ingredients that may be unsuitable for certain sensitive materials. Standard handling precautions still apply.
Free from alcohols, aldehydes, phenols and phosphates. A material-conscious cleaning formulation without these ingredients.
NO YELLOWING, NO DRYING OUT SURFACES, NO CHEMICAL CRACKING DUE TO DISINFECTANT-INDUCED DAMAGES and RUST RISK
6. NON-ENZYMATIC. STABLE. PRACTICAL.
WHY IT MATTERS: Consistent cleaning performance with straightforward handling and storage according to the product instructions.
A non-enzymatic formulation that avoids enzyme-related sensitisation concerns and offers formulation stability without relying on enzyme activity.
7. COMPATIBLE WITH EQUIPMENT FROM LEADING MANUFACTURERS
WHY IT MATTERS: Confidence in caring for sensitive equipment, provided the specific device manufacturer's cleaning instructions permit its use.
Manufacturer compatibility information identifies applications involving equipment from Dentsply Sirona, Planmeca, Belmont, NSK, EMS, SciCan, KaVo and Morita and others
8. CLEAN EFFECTIVELY. LEAVE MINIMAL RESIDUES.
WHY IT MATTERS: Cleaner surfaces and fewer unnecessary residues, with rinsing performed wherever required by the instructions for use.

WEEKLY EQUIPMENT CARE — IC-100
FIVE MINUTES ON FRIDAY. BETTER EQUIPMENT CARE ALL WEEK.
REMOVE THE BUILD-UP. PRESERVE THE FINISH. PROTECT YOUR INVESTMENT.
Even with regular daily cleaning, small amounts of detergent residue, oils, cosmetic products and other deposits may gradually accumulate on dental-chair upholstery and equipment surfaces.
We recommend a thorough supplementary wipe-down at least once per week, preferably on Friday evening after the last patient, when the dental chair is no longer in use.
THE FRIDAY END OF DAY CLEANING ROUTINE
- 1.
PREPARE A GENTLE CLEANING SOLUTION
Use warm, not hot, water with a small drop of mild dishwashing detergent, provided this is permitted by the dental-chair and surface manufacturer's cleaning instructions.
- 2.
USE A SOFT MICROFIBRE CLOTH
Lightly dampen a clean, soft microfibre cloth. Avoid soaking the material or allowing liquid to enter seams, switches or electrical components.
- 3.
WIPE FROM TOP TO BOTTOM — CLEANER TO DIRTIER
Systematically clean compatible upholstery, headrests, armrests and accessible equipment surfaces to help remove accumulated residues, oils and surface deposits.
- 4.
REMOVE ANY REMAINING DETERGENT FILM
Where permitted, wipe again with a separate cloth lightly dampened with clean water to remove loosened residues and detergent traces.
- 5.
DRY AND INSPECT
Finish with a clean, soft cloth and allow surfaces to dry. Inspect upholstery, seams and frequently touched areas for visible deposits, staining or signs of material deterioration.
THE GOLDEN RULE: DAILY CLEANING REMOVES CONTAMINATION. WEEKLY CARE HELPS PREVENT RESIDUE BUILD-UP.

Why clean first
why pre-cleaning
is essential.
Under the ADA infection-prevention guidance, cleaning is a distinct, essential step — disinfection can only work on a surface that has already been properly cleaned.
The ADA recommends neutral or near-to-neutral detergents (CDC) to avoid potential skin irritation, corrosion and cracking of the medical devices.
Highly alkaline, salt-based and anionic detergents should be avoided.
Cleaning cannot be replaced by disinfection.
Cleaning is the mechanical removal of loose bio-burden; disinfection is the elimination of many or all the pathogenic organisms.
Cleaning lowers the fixation of proteins on the surfaces.
The ADA encourages using products recommended by specific manufacturers to avoid potential surface damage.
Reflects the ADA Guidelines for Infection Prevention and Control (5th ed., Amended 2026).

How it works
better wetting.
better access.
IC-100 combines surfactants and complexing agents in an aqueous-glycolic formulation — three connected benefits:
Lower surface tension helps the cleaner distribute evenly instead of beading on the surface.
The solution reaches into grooves, pores, joints and irregularities where contamination may be retained.
The formulation loosens and suspends soil so mechanical wiping or brushing can remove it from the device.

highly effective against protein fixation
IC-100 keeps protein and blood residues removable rather than fixing them — important for a reliable cleaning process before disinfection.
reduces microbial load
IC-100 also reduces microbial load during pre-cleaning (per the Product Information) — but it remains a pre-cleaner, not a disinfectant.
Material compatibility

FAQ
common
questions.
What is IC-100 used for?
IC-100 is a gentle, non-protein-fixing cleaning detergent used for two applications: cleaning medical device surfaces (including dental equipment) before disinfection; and pre-cleaning surgical instruments by softening blood, proteins and organic debris before ultrasonic cleaning.
How do you use IC-100?
1. Medical Device Surface Cleaning: Apply IC-100 directly to a MaxiWipes wipe or clean cloth and thoroughly wipe the surface to physically remove residues before disinfection. 2. Surgical Instrument Pre-Cleaning: Immediately after treatment, thoroughly spray instruments with IC-100 and leave for 5–10 minutes to soften blood, proteins and organic debris. Rinse under running water before proceeding with ultrasonic cleaning and further reprocessing.
Why is "non-protein-fixing" important?
A non-protein-fixing pre-cleaner does not bind protein and blood residues to the instrument. Residues stay removable, which supports reliable cleaning before disinfection and sterilisation.
What is IC-100 made of?
IC-100 is based on a complexing agent (EDTA), parabens and biguanides in aqueous solution. It is free of alcohol and aldehydes.
Is IC 100 complying with ADA guidelines about surface cleaning of medical devices?
Yes, IC-100 fully aligns with ADA recommendations due to its near-neutral pH and endorsement by multiple leading equipment manufacturers. The ADA also strongly emphasises the importance of following manufacturers’ cleaning recommendations.
