INNOVATIVE CLEANING OF SURFACES OF MEDICAL DEVICES

ALWAYS CLEAN. DISINFECT AS NEEDED.

REMOVE THE CONTAMINATION. PROTECT THE EQUIPMENT. USE THE RIGHT PRODUCT FOR THE TASK.

IC-100 CleanWipes are premium, alcohol-free, near-neutral detergent wipes designed to remove organic contamination from compatible sensitive medical-device surfaces.

Their cleaning formulation combines surfactants and complexing agents to improve wetting, penetrate surface irregularities and help lift proteins, blood and other residues. Delivered through soft, highly absorbent viscose wipes, Clean Wipes provides a practical alternative to unnecessary routine disinfectant use wherever cleaning alone is appropriate.

Because effective infection prevention starts with understanding the difference between cleaning and disinfection.

Recommended by leading dental equipment manufacturers and designed with both users and the environment in mind.

Aligned with ADA infection-control cleaning principles (Fifth Edition, amended 2026).

CLEANWIPES — CLEAN SMARTER. PROTECT MORE. DISINFECT WHEN REQUIRED.

Why clean first

why pre-cleaning
is essential.

Under the ADA infection-prevention guidance, cleaning is a distinct, essential step — disinfection can only work on a surface that has already been properly cleaned.

near-neutral detergents

The ADA recommends neutral or near-to-neutral detergents (CDC) to avoid potential skin irritation, corrosion and cracking of the medical devices.

avoid harsh detergents

Highly alkaline, salt-based and anionic detergents should be avoided.

cleaning ≠ disinfection

Cleaning cannot be replaced by disinfection.

what each step does

Cleaning is the mechanical removal of loose bio-burden; disinfection is the elimination of many or all the pathogenic organisms.

lowers protein fixation

Cleaning lowers the fixation of proteins on the surfaces.

use recommended products

The ADA encourages using products recommended by specific manufacturers to avoid potential surface damage.

Reflects the ADA Guidelines for Infection Prevention and Control (5th ed., Amended 2026).

KEY FACTS — Why practices choose CleanWipes

  • 1. CLEANING FIRST — THE FOUNDATION OF EFFECTIVE INFECTION CONTROL

Under Australian dental infection-prevention principles, cleaning is an essential hygiene procedure. Cleaning removes contamination; disinfection inactivates microorganisms. Not every surface requires disinfection after every use, but the appropriate procedure depends on the surface, contamination and infection-control protocol.

THE BENEFIT: Use the right hygiene process for the right task. CleanWipes provide dedicated cleaning where cleaning alone is appropriate and effective preparation where disinfection is required.

  • 2. BETTER CLEANING BEFORE DISINFECTION

Organic contamination can interfere with disinfectant performance. CleanWipes remove soil and protein-based residues before subsequent disinfection when required.

THE BENEFIT: A properly cleaned surface provides a better foundation for an effective disinfection procedure.

  • 3. NEAR-NEUTRAL FORMULATION — GENTLE BY DESIGN

A near-neutral detergent system developed for compatible sensitive medical-device surfaces, without relying on strongly acidic or alkaline cleaning chemistry.

THE BENEFIT: Effective routine cleaning with careful consideration for equipment materials and user handling.

  • 4. VIRTUALLY SMEAR-FREE — A CLEAN SURFACE SHOULD LOOK CLEAN

The formulation is designed to minimise visible streaks, smearing and residual detergent film under appropriate use conditions.

THE BENEFIT: A cleaner-looking finish on compatible plastics, equipment housings, dental-chair surfaces and other sensitive materials.

  • 5. HELP PROTECT AGAINST STAINING, HARDENING AND CRACKING

Alcohol-free, material-conscious chemistry avoids exposing susceptible surfaces to alcohol-related stresses that may contribute to discolouration, hardening or stress cracking.

THE BENEFIT: Support the long-term appearance and condition of valuable dental equipment.

  • 6. REMOVE BLOOD, PROTEINS AND ORGANIC CONTAMINATION

Surfactants and complexing agents help loosen, dissolve and lift organic residues from compatible surfaces.

THE BENEFIT: Effective soil removal rather than simply wiping contamination across the surface.

  • 7. ADVANCED WETTING — REACH INTO GAPS, GROOVES AND SURFACE TEXTURES

Lower surface tension improves spreading and helps the detergent penetrate accessible pores, grooves and surface irregularities.

THE BENEFIT: Better contact with contamination, including in areas that are difficult to reach with ordinary wiping.

  • 8. NON-PROTEIN-FIXING — REMOVE CONTAMINATION BEFORE IT BECOMES HARDER TO CLEAN

CleanWipes use a non-protein-fixing cleaning approach rather than chemistry intended to coagulate or fix protein residues.

THE BENEFIT: Supports removal of blood and tissue residues and prepares surfaces for further hygiene processing when needed.

  • 9. FREE FROM ALCOHOL, PHENOLS, ALDEHYDES AND PHOSPHATES

The supplied formulation information identifies the absence of these specified ingredients.

THE BENEFIT: A considered cleaning formulation for frequent use on compatible medical-device surfaces.

  • 10. NON-ENZYMATIC — EFFECTIVE CLEANING WITHOUT ADDED ENZYMES

CleanWipes rely on detergent chemistry rather than enzymes for their cleaning action.

THE BENEFIT: A suitable alternative for practices seeking non-enzymatic cleaning products.

  • 11. PREMIUM COTTON TOUCH — SOFT, ABSORBENT AND DURABLE

Generously sized 21 × 26 cm wipes with the specified 50 g/m² soft nonwoven material, designed for effective liquid absorption and practical wiping.

THE BENEFIT: Comfortable handling, generous working area and efficient everyday cleaning.

  • 12. EXCELLENT MATERIAL COMPATIBILITY — CARE FOR YOUR EQUIPMENT INVESTMENT

Designed for compatible sensitive dental equipment surfaces, including upholstery, headrests, acrylic glass, plastics and external equipment housings.

THE BENEFIT: Help minimise unnecessary surface wear caused by unsuitable cleaning chemistry.

  • 13. EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURER RECOMMENDATIONS

The supplied product information identifies recommendations or compatibility support from manufacturers including Dentsply Sirona, Planmeca, Belmont, NSK, EMS, SciCan, KaVo and Morita. Current approvals should be confirmed for specific equipment.

THE BENEFIT: Additional confidence when selecting a cleaner for specified dental equipment.

  • 14. ONE CLEANING FAMILY — SURFACE WIPES AND INSTRUMENT PRE-CLEANING

CleanWipes provide convenient surface cleaning. The associated IC-100 liquid/foam format also supports non-protein-fixing pre-cleaning of compatible surgical instruments, subject to its specific instructions.

THE BENEFIT: A coordinated cleaning approach across different clinical applications without confusing surface wipes with instrument reprocessing products.

  • 15. VISCOSE-BASED WIPE MATERIAL — ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS

The supplied product information identifies viscose fibre as part of the wipe material.

THE BENEFIT: An additional material-selection consideration, with biodegradability and disposal claims subject to product-specific evidence.

  • 16. READY TO USE — PRACTICAL DAILY CLEANING

Pre-saturated wipes supplied in a convenient refillable dispenser format, with 70 wipes per refill.

THE BENEFIT: Consistent cleaning routines, straightforward handling and convenient replenishment.

HOW TO USE — CleanWipes

CLEAN FROM TOP TO BOTTOM. FROM CLEANER TO DIRTIER.

ONE SYSTEMATIC ROUTINE. EFFECTIVE CLEANING. BETTER EQUIPMENT CARE.

CleanWipes are ready-to-use, near-neutral, alcohol-free detergent wipes designed to remove surface contamination, organic residues and protein-based soils from compatible dental equipment.

For consistent results, follow a systematic cleaning sequence that helps prevent the transfer of contamination back onto surfaces already cleaned.

TOP TO BOTTOM. CLEAN TO DIRTY.

A simple, repeatable cleaning routine for compatible dental-chair and medical-device surfaces.

  1. 1.

START AT THE TOP — CLEANER SURFACES FIRST

Begin with the upper, less-contaminated surfaces, such as compatible headrests, upper chair surfaces and equipment housings.

  2. 2.

WORK DOWNWARDS — CLEAN TO DIRTY

Progress systematically towards armrests, accessible controls and lower chair sections. Avoid returning to cleaner areas with a wipe that has already contacted more contaminated surfaces.

  3. 3.

    WIPE METHODICALLY — REMOVE CONTAMINATION

Use overlapping, preferably one-directional wiping strokes. Allow the near-neutral cleaning formulation to wet the surface and help lift soil, proteins and other organic residues.

  4. 4.

    CHANGE WIPES WHEN NECESSARY

Replace a wipe when it becomes dry, visibly soiled or when moving between areas where reuse could cause cross-contamination. Use additional wipes as required for larger surfaces.

  5. 5.

    LEAVE A CLEAN FINISH

Follow the manufacturer's directions for any required drying or residue removal. The CleanWipes formulation is designed to minimise visible smearing and detergent film on compatible surfaces.

  6. 6.

DISINFECT WHEN THE PROTOCOL REQUIRES IT

CleanWipes are cleaning wipes, not disinfectant wipes. Where surface disinfection is required, use a compatible validated disinfectant, such as PlastiSept eco, following its specified instructions and wet-contact time.

THE GOLDEN RULE: TOP TO BOTTOM. CLEANER TO DIRTIER. NEVER BRING CONTAMINATION BACK.

How to replace the refill — Keep the dispenser hygienic

NEW REFILL. CLEAN CONTAINER. CONSISTENT HYGIENE.

  1. 1.

    Remove the used refill bag.

Inspect the dispenser, lid and dispensing opening for visible contamination.

  2. 2.

    Clean and sanitise the dispenser.

We recommend thorough treatment of the compatible container surfaces with BC-San 100, provided this use is supported by its current instructions.

  3. 3.

    Complete the prescribed procedure.

Observe the required contact time and any rinsing or drying instructions before refilling.

  4. 4.

    Insert the new CleanWipes refill.

Position the refill correctly and close the dispenser securely to protect the wipes from drying and contamination.

Important guidance

CLEANING IS ESSENTIAL. DISINFECTION IS RISK-DEPENDENT.

CleanWipes are intended for cleaning compatible medical-device surfaces. Their use must follow the practice's infection-control protocol, including Australian dental infection-prevention guidance.

Where disinfection is required — for example, for certain clinical contact surfaces or following contamination with blood or other potentially infectious material — cleaning alone is not sufficient.

WEEKLY AND END-OF-WEEK EQUIPMENT CARE — CleanWipes

FIVE MINUTES ON FRIDAY. BETTER EQUIPMENT CARE ALL WEEK.

REMOVE THE BUILD-UP. PRESERVE THE FINISH. PROTECT YOUR INVESTMENT.

Even with regular daily cleaning, small amounts of detergent residue, oils, cosmetic products and other deposits may gradually accumulate on dental-chair upholstery and equipment surfaces.

We recommend a thorough supplementary wipe-down at least once per week, preferably on Friday evening after the last patient, when the dental chair is no longer in use.

THE FRIDAY END OF DAY CLEANING ROUTINE

  1. 1.

    PREPARE A GENTLE CLEANING SOLUTION

Use warm, not hot, water with a small drop of mild dishwashing detergent, provided this is permitted by the dental-chair and surface manufacturer's cleaning instructions.

  2. 2.

    USE A SOFT MICROFIBRE CLOTH

Lightly dampen a clean, soft microfibre cloth. Avoid soaking the material or allowing liquid to enter seams, switches or electrical components.

  3. 3.

WIPE FROM TOP TO BOTTOM — CLEANER TO DIRTIER

Systematically clean compatible upholstery, headrests, armrests and accessible equipment surfaces to help remove accumulated residues, oils and surface deposits.

  4. 4.

    REMOVE ANY REMAINING DETERGENT FILM

Where permitted, wipe again with a separate cloth lightly dampened with clean water to remove loosened residues and detergent traces.

  5. 5.

    DRY AND INSPECT

Finish with a clean, soft cloth and allow surfaces to dry. Inspect upholstery, seams and frequently touched areas for visible deposits, staining or signs of material deterioration.

THE GOLDEN RULE: DAILY CLEANING REMOVES CONTAMINATION. WEEKLY CARE HELPS PREVENT RESIDUE BUILD-UP.
